What
is NOL?
Although it is not proper for a guest to bring anyone not specifically named
on their invitation, we all know this occasionally happens. You can rest
assured that we handle this situation in a very tactful manner.
If we are restricting your wedding to "OnlyNamesOnList" or "Adult's
Only", we tell your guest that "there is very limited seating
at the reception site, and the site cannot accommodate anyone not listed
on the invitation". Guests realize that it is not proper to add
uninvited guests and they seldom press the issue.
Under no circumstances will we argue with your guests.
If a guest still
insists that they be permitted to add additional
people to their invitation, we take the information and post it with an
NOL which means "NotOnList".
It is then up to you or a family member to contact this guest.
If your wedding is restricted to "OnlyNamesOnList" and you decide
to permit a guest to add an additional person to their invitation, just
send us an email and we'll be glad to make the change.
PLEASE NOTE:
NO ONE except the bride or groom can make additions
or changes to your list once you have sent us the list of guests you are
inviting. All additions must be in writing so that we have written verification
in your files.
A notice about "extra guests" is posted on your wedding page,
AND on the rsvp form for guests who respond online. If a guest chooses to
ignor the notice and adds an uninvited guest to their invitation, their
additions will automatically be marked NOL so you can contact them.
Should you decide not to permit one of these additional guests
to attend, let us know and we'll remove the addition from your count.
Invitations marked NOL cannot be removed...they are added to the number
of invitations we are servicing for you. We can remove their response from
your count, but we cannot remove them from your list.
PLEASE NOTE: We all know that typing a list of a couple of hundred people
is tedious and spelling errors can occur. If a guest spells their name differently
than you show on your list, it will result in an NOL. An NOL will also occur
if your guest uses ALL CAPS or all lower case when they sign in.
NOL's that result from multiple submissions, spelling mistakes, or guests
that enter themselves as a "new" inviation instad of pulling up
their name on your list, will be corrected at the end of each day. We check
each wedding nightly for these errors and will make the necessary corrections
at that time.
You do not need to notify us that an NOL has appeared on your page. If we have a question about an NOL, we will contact you.
If your Reception
is "OPEN", it means that your listed guests can add as many guests
as they choose. The added guests will appear on your list as NOL's, but
you do not have to notify us that you approve them...they are automatically
approved.
PLEASE NOTE:
If a guest rsvp's and you have not included their invitation on your list,
they will be added to the bottom of your page as an NOL invitation. Although
we make every attempt to cover your error by telling them that "part
of the list is out of alphabetical order", some guests
will realize the truth and have their feelings hurt. This is embarrassing
for us and for your guests, and we do not reinforce the fact that their
names are missing by holding them on the phone to verify spelling or phone
numbers. Please do not put your guests in this situation. Please make sure
that your list includes EVERYONE that has been sent an invitation.
Your update page is updated immediately for guests that respond online.
Phone responses will be updated as necessary.
